What a shock. The x-rays showed quite clearly that one side of her lungs and stomach are white which means they are inactive. Her stomach is also full of gas and the vet wonders if it is twisted. Sukyana is now an inpatient.
The vet will carry out an internal test with coloured liquid or powder and then take another x-ray so he can see exactly what has happened. She also had a blood test which showed both her kidneys and liver are normal and there’s no sign of poison. We left her on the examination table with an oxygen mask on to help her breath more easily. Following the tests they will inform us if she needs an operation.
The vet phoned 2 days later to say Sukanya has started to eat so they’ve cancelled the operation. She’s moved out of intensive care and is doing well. We went to collect her 3 days later and were overjoyed to see her wagging her tail.
